You can still make and/or join a team! See Mr. Johnson in the Library!

How It Works.

The Details.

  1. Up to 6 people per team (you can only be on one team).
  2. Your team needs to read all 28 books on “The List.”
  3. In February teams will take an online quiz as a group about the 28 books and their authors.
  4. The top 16 teams go to the Grand Battle in Marshalltown on April 17!

If you are looking to participate in the Battle of the Books, please see the Library / Media Center staff so sign up.

Forming a Team.
If you have a team of up to 6 please let us know so we can put you all in the same team. We are also creating teams with individual students. This is a great way to meet some new people and collaborate! You do not have to have 6 people in your team. If you would like to have less than 6 and close your team, please let us know.

Each Team will need to come up with a team name. Names must be school appropriate.

The Books.
The 28 books selected for you to read by the IHSBOB committee are award winning books from across many genres. It will be up to your team to decide on your reading strategies. Will the group decide on who reads what or will everyone read all the books. It is up to you to decide among your team. The Linn-Mar Library has all the books available for check out. Please make sure to bring the books back at the end of the checkout period so other teams can read the books as well.
