Battle of the Books

The 2017 Iowa High School Battle of the Books!

This is the second year that we will be participating in the IHSBOB.  Here is how it works:

You can either form a team of you and up to 5 other friends (6 students per team) or talk to me in the library and I can help you form a team.  You may only be on one team.  Your team will also need to come up with a name! Make it catchy, fun and punny!

The Battle of the Books organizers have selected 28 books for you and your team to read. You and your team will need to decide on who will be reading which books.  You can read all the books if you want!  Reading more of the books will help your team out for the qualification exam.

During March 1-15th your team will take a proctored exam by Mr. Johnson.  You will use your knowledge of the books to take two exams. The first will test your knowledge of the authors of the books (who wrote which book) while the second will ask questions about the 28 books your team has read.  You will take the exam as a group but you will not be allowed to use any notes or the books.

The top 16 teams from across the state will travel to Marshalltown for the Grand Battle on April 25th, 2018 to test their expertise on the books.

Here is a list of the books you will be reading this year:
